Uganda Police is set to recruit and train 5000 police constables come November 2020 ahead of the 2021 elections. These are to be selected from the seventeen thousand three hundred seventy eight (17,378) that applied in September.

Speaking to the media at the Media Centre today 2nd October, Fred Enanga the Spokes person of the Uganda Police said that the illegible trainees must be physically fit Ugandans of good conduct, possess problem solving capabilities among other positive traits. They will have to undergo both Oral and written interviews.

Enanga thanked those who showed interest in joining The Uganda Police Force as the 17,378 came from twenty eight(28) regions of Uganda with Eastern Kyoga bringing in the highest number of applicants.

Police is also investigating a case in which an unidentified twenty six year old lady is believed to have been murdered and her body dumped along the Northern Bypass opposite Lubigi National Water and Sewerage Cooperation plant.

The findings by police so far show that she could have been sexually harassed or raped due to the evidence found on her body and the saliva in her mouth.

Enanga discouraged ladies from moving alone late at night for their own security.
